This place has been on my radar for a long time. We finally stopped. The place is small, but has character. There is a full bar and small dining room. The bartender was friendly but spent some time on her phone which was kind of unprofessional. She did however come out with baskets of popcorn for everyone at the bar. I ordered the patty melt. This is a 1/2 pound burger served on grilled Texas toast with melted cheese and grilled onions. The burger was juicy and cooked to perfection. The grilled onions added a nice flavor. The order came with homemade kettle chips. they were crispy and a nice compliment to the meal. My wife and I split a basket of fries. They were a little limp I thought. I will be back on a Wednesday or a Saturday to try the Mexican food they offer on those nights only.

Food is delicious and the staff is very nice. Very glad we called ahead for a table as this place fills up fast. Interior could use a little updating but there really isn't a complaint about this place. And if you get the enchilada special, come hungry or split it with someone. Its a lot of food on that platter!

Start with the good the beer list was decent. I went on Mexican night and there were no Mexicans anywhere to be found? Regardless, i had a chimi with shredded beef it was just ok, the beef was pot roast and it lacked any spices and the Guacamole just plain sucked. I believed they used sour cream in it. Chips were store bought i suspect the salsa was too. Both huge let downs. There are much better choices in Sturgeon Bay.

Not a big fish eater but my boyfriend got the fish and loved it. However I could of gotten a better cheese burger at McDonald's and it cost $10 plus an additional $2.00 for fries.

The walleye is wonderful and a great portion too. Ordered that after the reviews of it. We went before five pm on a Friday night and they were great with our one year old daughter. Dining out is not always easy with a little one nor welcomed by the establishment. We were really pleased with the experience here.

Walleye rocks. Great staff. I started this review 9/6/2013. I forgot I started this. It was fours years since the last time I was up in Door County. I had to make sure to go to Woldt's on Friday for their fish fry. I noticed they remodeled a bit since the last time I was there. I had the fried walleye and it is excellent. The staff here has always been friendly to me even after they learn I am from Chicago :). A must stop for me whenever I am in the area.

Had the fish fry (cod) and French fries. Both were very good. The fries were almost like the shoestring potatoes, so it seemed like you got a million of them. They did something I've never seen done.. The rye bread was buttered with 2 half slices put together with a few strands of onion between them. Maybe it's a regional thing? Pity the unsuspecting onion haters! Service was very good, and we got there just as it was filling up. I would definitely return if in the area again.

My fiancé and I walked in there with our 3 and 2 year old girls for dinner. Stood up by the bar area for about 20 minutes and we still haven't even been looked at or asked if we needed menus or a drink. Do note they were not busy by any means! Finally after being walked by about 50 times with zero acknowledgement from anyone behind the bar we asked for menus, which we got right away but still no drinks! Opened the menu up to find astronomical prices for fish!!! So we left immediately and went elsewhere. So if you like rude to no service and overpriced food, this is your place. If we had gotten some acknowledgement we definitely would have stayed to eat regardless of prices. Customer service is key!!!

My first meal here was the Walleye Dinner - and it was very good. My next meal a couple weeks later was the Beef Tenderloin Sandwich - and that was pretty bad. I would have sent it back, but our waitress was backed-up and too busy to check on us. I'll try them again I reckon - not that there's a rush.

Great food, wonderful experience, friendly servers. We stopped in on a whim and were more than pleased with our meals. Highly recommend the Stack Burger!

The food here is really good and Woldt's is popular with the locals. They have a fish fry that I heard is good but have never tried. I like ordering from their Mexican selections. The menu has a variety of bar food to choose from. My only issue is that if you are trying to cut back on fried food, there isn't much to choose from. But everything I've had has been really good.

While this place was recommend by the hotel staff. I ask upon return to the hotel if they ate they often and the answer was no. We were seated quickly and the place was full in minutes. We wanted the fish fry and noticed the catfish was listed for the day. We ask the waitress and she stated she would recommend the perch rather than the catfish. We ordered and while the fish was good it was certainly not excellent. The breading had no spices that we could taste. The meal was acceptable but not outstanding. After finishing we ask for a slice of cherry pie and was told that did not have cherry pie. We were not offered an alternative, however we were immediately presented the check. She already had it totaled when we ask for the pie. This is the most hurried we have ever felt in a restaurant. The place was nice enough and certainly crowded on this Friday night, however we have to give this place just an average.

If you like fried food, this place is all right. I think the Karla G. gave them a few too many stars! The dining room is tiny, crowded even. The furnishings are formica and plastic vinyl chairs. The food is "meh". Also prices are high. There was only one waitress on a busy night, and she was obviously on the edge. She didn't even offer us dessert, so I have no idea if they have that or not. She did push the booze. Over half of the place is a bar. If you want some fried food, it's fine. Other than that, go somewhere else!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
